Launching a Custom Web Application with Securden Session Manager (SSM)

To initiate connections to custom web applications through Securden Session Manager, follow these steps:

  • Create a custom account type using the 'Windows Member' template.
  • Set up the application launcher profile.
  • Associate device to the SSM-configured remote gateway.

1. Create a custom account type using the ‘Windows Member’ template

To create an account for launching connections via the session manager, go to Admin > Account Management > Account Types. Choose the Work account type and click Add Account Type. From the given predefined templates, select ‘Windows Member’ account type. Once selected, provide a unique name for the new account type, as this will serve as its identifier. Adding a description can offer additional clarity. For instance, if the account type is intended for launching connections to Splunk, you can assign a name that reflects that purpose.

2. Set up the application launcher profile

After creating the account type, the next step is to create an application launcher profile for the custom web application you intend to connect to. Follow the steps outlined below to add the launcher profile.

Note: Ensure that the 'Take connections through Remote Gateway' option at the bottom is selected. This is essential for launching connections via Securden Session Manager and enabling session recording.

3. Associate device to the SSM-configured remote gateway

The account that you have created needs to be linked with the Securden Session Manager (SSM) configured remote gateway. To do this, go to Admin > Remote Gateway. Under the 'Associate Devices, Domains with Remote Gateway' section, click on 'Associate' within the 'Associate Devices' tab.

Click the Associate Device button, and a dropdown menu will appear where you can select the 'IP Address/FQDN' and 'Account Type' for the device association. Search for the account type you previously created, select it, and click 'Save'.

After completing the setup, when attempting to launch remote connections from the Accounts section using the account you created, the Launch Remote Connections dropdown will display the application launcher profile you configured for initiating connections.
