What are Built-in Applications and Policies in Securden EPM?

Securden Endpoint Privilege Manager comes with built-in applications, application groups, control policies that can be used by the IT administrator to fast track the EPM deployment process.

The most commonly used software tools in enterprises have been added as applications in Securden EPM. You can create control policies with these built-in applications even before deploying the Securden agent.

These built-in applications have been grouped into application groups to help with policy creation. Built-in policies are application control policies that grant users the permissions to run applications that are a part of built-in application groups.

How to Use Built-in Applications and Policies Effectively?

Built-in applications and policies are there in EPM for making the process of deployment smoother.

The built-in applications are a set of commonly used apps across various businesses. These apps are organized by their functions into groups.

For example, tools such as PowerBI and Tally have been grouped together under the application group Data Analytics Tools.

Built-in policies are application control policies that grant permissions to elevate the app with local admin rights to the associated users.

These policies are also disabled by default. The administrator must enable the policy before it can be enforced through agents.

Built-in policies are associated with every user and computer added to Securden by default. These policies can be used effectively by associating the policy with the required computers and users alone before enabling the policy.

To edit a built-in policy, navigate to Privileges section and find the required policy. Click the Edit icon to associate the policy with the required devices and users.
